Ida Moyer

Ida P. Moyer, 91, Mifflinburg

Ida Pearl Moyer, 91, of 435 Moyer Rd., for the past 57 years, entered into rest at 9:40 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1922, in Chillisquaque, a daughter of the late Norman and Sadie (Mathews) Swartzlander. On October 9, 1941, she married Neil S. Moyer, who preceded her in death December 4, 2010.

Ida was an active member of the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, for 78 years, where she was a member of the Miss Mae Sunday School Class.

She was a 1938 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

Ida was a member of the Buffalo Valley Grange, and a member of the 4-H Club where she served as a leader for many years. She was a charter member of the Union County Extension/New Berlin Homemaker's Association, where she was a mentor for young women and homemakers.

She was inducted into the Voter Hall of Fame in recognition of voting consecutively for 50 years.

Ida was a quintessential homemaker and gardening was her passion.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Rodrick Corey of Lanesboro, Massachusetts; one son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Cindy Moyer of Mifflinburg; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Rod and Candace Corey of Yarmouth, Maine, Ryan and Kristen Corey of Hingham, Mass., Neil and Amy Moyer of Mifflinburg, Kayse and Stephen Corrieri of York, Derrick Moyer of Mifflinburg, and Norman and Courtney Moyer of Mifflinburg; and 14 great grandchildren, Hannah, Anders, Gunnar, Mac, Maggie, Shane, Jared, Alyssa, Gianna, John, Trisha, Rebecca, Vanessa, and Alexis.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James M. Swartzlander.

Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Michael C. Romig, officiating.

Burial will be in the Dreisbach Church Cemetery.
