Ileene Royer

Ileene F. Royer, 88, formerly of 243 Green St., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.

She was born June 9, 1929, in Aaronsburg, a daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy (Weaver) Fiedler.  On April 15, 1950, in Mifflinburg, she married Hoover E. Royer, who preceded her in death September 23, 2009.

Ileene was a 1947 graduate of Penns Valley High School.

She was employed at Chef Boyardee, Milton, for 37 years, and at the Laurelton Center, for 10 years.

Ileene was a member of the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling to the beach, playing pinochle with friends, and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their sporting events.  Ileene was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe A., Sr. and Holly S. Royer of Mifflinburg, and Jason E. “Reg” and Marcy L. Royer of Millmont; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon L. and David C. Whittaker of Mifflinburg; one brother, Kenneth Fiedler of Bellefonte; 4 grandchildren, Kyle and Heidi Whittaker of Mifflinburg, Abbey and Matt Damore of  Guam, Joey Royer, Jr. of Harrisburg, and Andrew Royer of Dover, Delaware; one step-granddaughter, Maredith and Seth Zechman of Lewisburg; three great grandchildren, Libby, Lucas, and Jack; and two step great grandchildren, Caden and Brady.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Phyllis Bressler, Jean Sampsell, Nancy Donnelly, and Maxine Boyer.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the Dreisbach United Church of Christ, 875 Dreisbach Church Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
