Irene Sarah Hendershot, 97, of 210 Walnut St., Lewisburg, for 48 years, entered into rest at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Watsontown Heath and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 11, 1921, in Woodward, a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Orindorf) Arney. On January 22, 1979, she married Glenn E. Hendershot, who survives.
Irene was a 1939 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She was employed as a seamstress at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, for 30 years.
Irene was a charter member of the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene where she was a member of the Senior Class.
She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 39 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Myron and Jean Edinger of Mazeppa, and Nelson and Sharon Edinger of Mifflinburg; one daughter, Carolyn White of Mifflinburg; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Arney; and one sister, Luella Mowery.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Mifflinburg Nazarene Church, 12 Market St., with Rev. Wayne Krell, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Evangelical, 235 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
