Irene L. Musser, 91, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at home.
She was born August 2, 1929, in Millmont, a daughter of the late Harry and Rosella (Long) Vanatta. On April 7, 1947, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she married Alvin “Sol” H. Musser, who preceded her in death January 30, 1993.
Irene was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She was employed at Laurelton State School, ParKnit, Mifflinburg, Welsh Store, Mifflinburg, Ben Franklin, Mifflinburg, and Country Cupboard, Lewisburg.
Irene was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg, where she was active in the women’s group and past member of the alter guild. She was a past member of the home makers club, New Berlin.
She enjoyed gardening and her flowers at home, sewing, crocheting, and crafts.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen "Kathy" and Ed Snavely of Wrightsville, and Lori and Jim Bailey of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Darlene Vanatta of Millmont; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Andrea Guffey and her companion Thomas Lee, Jr., Amy Walter, Chad and Sheri Bailey, Jamie Bailey and Jeffrey Chamberlin, Jill and James Johnson, and Julie Powell; 11 great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alex Guffey, Benjamin and Zach Johnson, Dominic, Jack, and Adalyn Bailey, Elsie and Tatum Powell, and Xavier and Lucy Chamberlin.
She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Terry Musser; one daughter, Therese Keen; three brothers, Paul, Ernest, and Russell Vanatta.
Funeral services will be conducted privately.
