Irene V. Zimmerman, 86, Mifflinburg
Irene Victoria Zimmerman, 86, of 10935 State Route 304, for 52 years, entered into rest at 10:05 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since August 2009.
She was born July 21, 1924, in Snyder County, a daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Herman) Moyer. On March 25, 1944, she married Hoyt Francis Zimmerman. He preceded her in death July 30, 1996.
Irene was employed at Walnut Acres, Penns Creek, for 25 years. Earlier in life, she was employed at Chef Boyardee, Milton, and the Milton Shoe Factory.
She was a member of the West End Senior Center, Laurelton.
Irene enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, playing bingo, and square dancing.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert E. and Kay Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Richard H. and Susan A. Zimmerman of Millmont, and Keith A. Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda D. and Stoy A. Smith of Middleburg, and Nancy L. Watson of Freeburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Mahlon Boop of Selinsgrove; 13 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and 11 step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, John F. Zimmerman on July 27, 2007.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. a�" 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Pastor Richard L. DeVett, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
