MIFFLINBURG – Jacob Lee Walter, 74, of 687 Tyson Rd., for the past 27 years, entered into rest at 7:30 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014, at his home.He was born March 12, 1940, in Snyder County, a son of the late Marlin and Irene (Varner) Shrawder.
On February 12, 1965, he married the former Myrna J. Hanselman, who survives. Jacob was employed as a diesel mechanic at Milton Transportation/B.T.R., for over 30 years.
He enjoyed old trucks and tractors, country and gospel music, western movies, collecting vinyl records, fixing items around his house, and his cat, Momma.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 49 years, are one son, David L. Walter of Schuykill Haven; one daughter, Pamela S. Rickrode and her fiance Joseph Pastucci of Carlisle; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Mary Shrawder of McClure; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Marlin Snyder of Herndon, Lena and Maynard Loss of Florida, and Kathy Shrawder of Bloomsburg; one sister-in-law, Darlene Shrawder of Northumberland; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth J. and Isaac M. Rickrode.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jacob Walter, Jr.; two brothers, Milford and Carl Shrawder; and his grandparents, whom raised him his first 12 years, Jacob Lee and Anna M. Warner.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, Dec. 29th, at the Mifflinburg Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Rd., where the memorial service will be conducted at noon, with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.
