Jacqueline “Jackie” Robin (Lohr) Bilger, 53, of 800 Black Run Rd., Lewisburg, since 2001, and a member of the Black Run community all her life, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born March 22, 1965, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Cloyd Allen and Margie H. (Mack) Lohr of Mifflinburg. She married Randy Bilger on October 19, 1996.
Jackie was a 1983 graduate of Mifflinburg High School where she was active in band and FHA. She earned an Associates Degree in 1985 at Penn College, Williamsport, and a Masters from Penn State University, in 2003.
She had a passion for genealogy, and spent countless hours researching and tracing her family history back several centuries.
Jackie excelled in human resources. She began her career at JPM, Co., Lewisburg. Since 2004, Jackie was the Director of Human Resources at Lycoming College in Williamsport, where she managed recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits, was the Title IX coordinator and chief risk officer, and oversaw the mail and print services. Needless to say, this took up a lot of her time, but she loved it and her Lyco family. In a stroke of Divine wisdom, she passed while her team, Warriors for a Cure In Sight, were walking for her in Relay for Life, minutes before the moment of silence and candlelight ceremony to honor those who’ve lost their lives to cancer. It was a fitting end to a life well lived and a lady whose fierce optimism and courage carried her through more than her fair share of trials and tribulations. Her fun-loving spirit, sense of humor and ability to bring joy to all those around her will be sorely missed, but we’ll take a page from her book and “take it day by day”.
Jackie enjoyed caring for many feline friends that she took in over the years, mostly due to thoughtless, irresponsible pet owners.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband, are two daughters, Maggie and Mackenzie Bilger; one sister and brother-in-law, Suzy and Rick Yetter; one brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Julie Lohr; three nephews, Caleb Laubscher, Ethan Yetter, and Ryan Lohr; one niece, Mia Lohr; many well-loved aunts and uncles; and her work family at Lycoming College.
A Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Pennington Lounge in Wendle Hall (Lycoming Academic Center) at Lycoming College, Williamsport, with Rev. John Shaffer, officiating.
Parking is available in the Academic Center Lot on Mulberry Street.
