James Allen Brown, 69, of 866 Reber Rd., Mifflinburg, since 1979, entered into rest at 1:49 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020, at home.
He was born March 1, 1951, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Clarence William and Betty Jane (Dieffenderfer) Brown. On February 8, 1975, in St. Pius X Church, Selinsgrove, he married the former Margaret L. (Chandler), who survives.
James was a 1969 graduate of Milton High School and attended Bloomsburg University.
He was employed at Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg, for 32 years. He was also employed at Conagra for 12 years.
James attended the Church of New Life, Mifflinburg.
He was a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club, Mifflinburg.
James enjoyed playing the banjo guitar and accordion for anyone willing to listen, especially his grandchildren. He started playing the accordion at 10 years old and he also played music in the Joe Murray Band.
He enjoyed hunting in Potter County and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jacob Brown of Mifflinburg, and Matthew and Jessica Brown of Sunbury; two daughters, Marcy Brown of Mifflinburg, and Mary Brown and her significant other Skyler Rodarmel of Weikert; one brother, Dirk Zechman of Carlisle; two sisters, Barbie Sheriff of Carlisle, and Kathy Keiser of Vermont; and three grandchildren, Madison Brown, Liam Rodarmel, and Aubrey Rodarmel.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, September 27th, at the Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Rd., Mifflinburg, with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.
