James D. Linn, 81, Mifflinburg
James Daniel Linn, 81, of 2145 Wildwood Rd., for the past 30 years, entered into rest at 7:43 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2012, at ManorCare, Sunbury.
He was born December 13, 1930, in West Milton, a son of the late Kimber L., Sr. and Dorthy (Kingston) Linn.
James was employed as a truck driver for Leone Wintermyer, Inc., York.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Milton, Loyal Order of Moose, Steelton, V.F.W. Post 5640, Paxtonville, New Berlin American Legion Post 957, and the Kratzerville Fire Company.
James enjoyed camping with his family, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving are his companion of 39 years, Helen M. Herman of Mifflinburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Sherry Herman of Beavertown; one daughter, Josephine A. Herman of Middleburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kimber L. Jr. and Anna Linn, and William G. and Peggy Linn, all of Milton; two grandchildren, Timothy and Jeffrey Herman; four great grandchildren, Hanna, Bayley, Jeffrey, and Jessie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph T. Linn; and one sister, Bettie L. Eby.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of James will be conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. John Lee, officiating.
