Jean A. Katherman

Jean A. Katherman, 87, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 3:32 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, surrounded by her family.

She was born September 9, 1936, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Leroy and Edna Mae (Rearick) Roat.  On September 16, 1954, she married Walter C. Katherman, Sr., who survives.

Jean was a 1954 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

She was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.

Jean was employed as a health aide for Mifflinburg Area School District.

She was a girl scout leader, and enjoyed watching her children’s school activities, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 69 years, are one son, Walter Katherman, Jr. of Mifflinburg; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Steve Paige of Winfield, Vicki and Curt Krebs of New Columbia, Beverly Reeder of Mifflinburg, and Ann Wagner and Gary Wenrick of Mifflinburg; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters; daughter-in-law, Cathy Katherman; son-in-law, Paul Reeder Jr.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday November 16, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral service will be conducted at 3, with Rev. Robert Rice, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery.
