Jeffery Ressler

MIFFLINBURG – Jeffery Darrel Ressler, 66, of 248 Scottsdale Dr., for the past 10 years, entered into rest at 10:12 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born October 5, 1949, in Harrisburg, a son of the late George and Ruth (Yeager) Ressler.  On August 11, 1980, in Lemoyne, he married the former LuAnn L. Yeager, who survives.

Jeffery was a 1967 graduate of Williams Valley High School.

He retired after 28 years from the Defense Distribution Depot in Mechanicsburg, and also honorably served 20 years of active military service.

Jeffery was a member of the West End Social Club, Millmont, Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, and the Tower City American Legion Post 468.

He served as Union County Jury Commissioner.

Jeffery enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and camping.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 35 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery, Jr. and Paula Ressler of Williamstown, and Jarrod and Kim Kreiser of Elizabethville; one daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Mark Machamer of Williamstown; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Maura, Ashley, Samantha, and Matthew; five brothers, Donald Ressler of Wiconisco, Clifford Ressler of Woodward, George Ressler of Millersburg, Gerald Ressler of Sunbury, and Galen Ressler of Wiconisco; and three sisters, Barbara Bell of Hampstead, North Carolina, Kathy Carl of Hampstead, and Claudia Maffei of Lykens.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas, Neal, and Lionel Ressler.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a memorial service will be conducted at 3, with Pastor Annette Shutt, officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410 and area veterans.
