Joan S. Shemory, 64, Mifflinburg
Joan S. Shemory, 64, of 400 Merri Lane, since 1995, entered into rest at 11:33 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born July 2, 1948, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Joseph I. and Dorothy V. (Bilger) Shively. On May 28, 1967, at the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, she married Terry L. Shemory, who survives.
Joan was a 1967 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
She attended the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron.
Joan was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village for many years. Earlier in life, she worked at the Laurelton Center, Union County Court House, and Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially grandchildren. Joan also enjoyed quilting, camping, cook-outs, and traveling to Florida.
Surviving in addition to her husband of nearly 46 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Nikki Shemory of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri Jo and Rodney Brittain of Millmont; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Larry Wilson of Millmont, and Rhonda and Harry Maurer of Mifflinburg; and four grandchildren, Tamara Brittain, Blayne Brittain, Morgan Shemory, and Blake Shemory.
Family and friends are welcome for a time of visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron, 2746 State Route 235, where a memorial service to celebrate the life of Joan will be conducted at 7 p.m., with Rev. Henry Dorman, officiating.
