John “Jack” Augustus Bauer, 90, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:20 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born May 27, 1934, in Morristown, New Jersey, a son of the late Eugene B. and Johanna (Dolan) Bauer. On February 20, 1965, in Morristown, New Jersey, he married the former Nancy Cullen, who survives.
Jack was a 1952 graduate of Morristown High School and attended Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Maryland, and New York University.
He was employed as Vice President of Sales for Trans World Airlines for 31 years. After he retired, he and his wife owned and operated eight Little Caesars restaurants in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Jack was a member of St. George Catholic Church, Mifflinburg.
He was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus and the Men’s Club at Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg.
Jack enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, are four daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Don Seebold of Mifflinburg, Susan and Steve Hostetler of Shawnee, Kansas, Jill and Steve Burnett of Flanders, New Jersey, and Kerry and Joe Wetzel of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Alex, Denise, Erin, Lauren, and Emily.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 7, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at St. George Catholic Church, 775 Forest Hill Rd., Mifflinburg, with the Rev. Matthew Larlick, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
