John "Jack" J. Campton, 74, Mifflinburg
John "Jack" Joseph Campton, 74, of 25 Market St., Mifflinburg, from 2000 to 2007, entered into rest at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown, where he had been a resident since February 4, 2008.
He was born March 6, 1936, in Shamokin, a son of the late Charles Durant and Ann Elizabeth (Simmonds) Campton.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of St. Edwards High School, Shamokin.
He honorably served in the US Navy, as a medic, from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1961.
Jack was employed from 1985 to 1999 by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (P.H.E.A.A.). Earlier in life, he was employed as a Laboratory Technician at the Rutland Hospital, Rutland, Vermont, for 7 years, and Holy Spirit Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was formerly a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Shamokin.
Jack was a member of the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.
Funeral arrangements will be conducted privately at the convenience of Jack's family.
