John W. Hufnagle, 68, Lewisburg

John William Hufnagle, 68, of 495 Swartz Rd., for the past 34 years, entered into rest Friday afternoon, March 14, 2014, at his home due to injuries sustained in a work accident.

He was born May 23, 1945, in Lewisburg a son of Charlotte (Snyder) Hufnagle of Lewisburg, and the late Howard Hufnagle. On June 17, 1966, in Lewisburg, he married the former Donna J. Lilley, who survives.

John was a 1963 graduate of Lewisburg High School.

He served in the Army National Guard from September 22, 1965 until his honorable discharge September 21, 1971.

John was employed as a tool maker for Lycoming Engines, Williamsport, for 38 years.

He was a member of the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg.

John enjoyed helping neighbors and friends, machinist type work, engine work, woodworking, butchering, cutting firewood, hot rodding, fishing, farming, hunting, reading a good book, spending time with family, especially his wife.

John was quoted often saying he was "a jack of all trades, master of none."

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 48 years, are three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Dawn M. Hufnagle of Lewisburg, Brian K. and Coleen A. Hufnagle of Northumberland, and John W., Jr. and Catina S. Hufnagle of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy A. and Jay Bowersox of Winfield; and three grandchildren, Abigail L., Zebulon C., and Kierstin E. Hufnagle.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Hillside Bible Church, 1650 Centennial Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Samuel Knisely, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillside Bible Church Cemetery, with military honors by the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in memory of John to the Machine Trades Scholarship Fund, C/O Mifflinburg Bank & Trust, 250 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
