John H. Lohr, 81, Mifflinburg
John Henry Lohr, 81, a lifelong resident of 156 Lohr Rd., entered into rest at 12:45 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 1, 1930, at 156 Lohr Rd., West Buffalo Township, a son of the late George Calvin and Emma Jane (Pennycofe) Lohr. On April 7, 1984, in West Buffalo Township, he married the former Rachel L. Aikey, who survives.
John was a lifelong member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church.
He farmed in West Buffalo Township for many years, was employed at J.P.M., Co., Lewisburg, and Yorktowne, Mifflinburg, until he retired.
John enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He was a life member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Club, Mifflinburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 28 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger J. and Donna Reitenbach, and Richard G. Reitenbach, all of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Lena K. and James Baumer of Lewisburg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lulu Hoffman of Millmont, Pauline and Guy Heckman of Milton, and Martha and Miles Delcamp of Mifflinburg; five grandchildren, Alan D. Wolfe, Angela M. Anspach, Kristi E. Baker, Ty D. Reitenbach, and Adam M. Reitenbach; and 5 great grandchildren, Rosswell T. Baker, Lyvia N. Baker, Brooklyn M. Wade, Rylie J. Anspach, and Camren J. Reithenbach.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Cloyd Lohr; and three sisters, Mary Smith, Miriam Hoffman, and Hazel Schell.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Forest Hill United Methodist Church, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
