Joseph C. Moyer, 65, of Winfield, entered into rest at 5:55 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born June 9, 1955 in Lewisburg, a son of the late Samuel R. and Mary Elizabeth (Klingler) Moyer. In 1983, he married Sharon L. (Keefer) Moyer, who survives.
Joe was a 1973 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was a member of the St. John’s Church of Dry Valley, Winfield.
Joe enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, hunting, microbrews, attending concerts, and had a love for the Susquehanna River.
He owned and operated the family farm, Pleasant View Egg Farm, which is currently in its 10th generation. Joe assisted in operating the farm until his retirement. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bret and Mary Moyer of Winfield, and Daniel Moyer of Coal Township; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pastor Elaine Moyer of Ickesburg, and Linda and Robert Spigelmeyer of Winfield; two nieces and one nephew; three grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Blake, Logan and Wayde Moyer, who called him “Pappy Joe”.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph C. Moyer, Jr. in 2006.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Church of Dry Valley, 3667 PA-304 Winfield, Tuesday, September 22, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ricky Phillips and Pastor Elaine Moyer, officiating. Masks and social distancing will be in effect.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. John's Church of Dry Valley, 3667 State Route 304, Winfield, PA 17889.
Funeral arrangement are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
