Joy Courtney

James Samuel Courtney, 81, born August 19, 1935 and Joy Lee Courtney (Parrish), 81, born March 11, 1937 were the parents of two wonderful children. Spending many of their 62 years of marriage in Baltimore, they raised a family and were known as kind and caring people in their community. They later moved to Pennsylvania, where they held Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinners, among many others, for their children and their families in their warm home. James passed away October 29, 2016, and Joy passed away March 16, 2018. Both were surrounded by family in the comfort of their home.

They are survived by one daughter, Deborah (Courtney) Boehnlein and her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Sarah; one son, James Michael Courtney, his son, James Michael Jr, his children, Julie and Cameron, and Misty Kyle, mother to Avery and Jameson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, at the Meadowridge Cemetery, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland.
