Joyce L. Bielski

Joyce L. Bielski, 79, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Mifflinburg, peacefully entered into rest at 7:47 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 15, 1944, in Danville, a daughter of the late Edward and Larue (Gass) Herr.  On May 21, 1966, she married Edward G. Bielski, who survives.

Joyce was a graduate of Shamokin Area School District and of Shippensburg University.

She was employed as an elementary school teacher within the Mifflinburg Area School District for over 30 years.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially supporting her grandchildren, attending all of their sporting events and activities.  Throughout her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends, reading a good book, and spending time at the beach.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 57 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren E. and Jason Minium of Millerstown, and Alison K. and Joe Ordonez of Lewisburg; one sister, Amy Heins of Reading; many nieces and nephews; and seven grandchildren, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Herr.

Funeral services will be private.
