Junior C. Brown, 81, Milton

Junior Cyrus Brown, 81, a resident of Montandon since 1951, most recently of 2810 State Route 45, entered into rest at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born September 21, 1930, in White Springs, a son of the late Cyrus William and Sadie Dinah (Baker) Brown. On September 29, 1951, at the Montandon Baptist Church, he married the former Mary Ann Kerstetter, who survives.

Junior attended Jackson Elementary and Montandon High School.

He honorably served as rank of corporal, in the army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954. Junior received the Korean Defense Service Medal, KSM with 1 bronze star, and the good conduct medal.

He was a member of the Montandon Baptist Church.

Junior was employed as a ground crew foreman at Bucknell University for 35 years, until he retired in 1994.

He was a member of the International American Legion.

Junior was devoted to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Wendy Brown of Milton, and Herbert J. and Wendy Brown of Milton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn "Sue" V. and Richard Gibbons of Milton, and Jeanne K. and Byron Sutton, Jr. of Eldred; 13 grandchildren, Matt Brown, Beth Brown, Jeff Brown, Tammy Scholl, Laura Snyder, Paula Yost, Lynn Hatchett, Sean Sutton, Brandi Schultz, Ashley Sutton, Dillon Sutton, Karissa Brown, and Josh Brown; 11 great grandchildren; and Kathryn Young of Lewisburg, who was raised by Cyrus and Sadie Brown.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, Raymond, Dail, and Charles Brown; five sisters, Dorothy, Margaret, Miriam, Pauline, and Myrtle; and one grandson, Tony Gibbons.

Family and friends are welcome for a time of viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tom Marker, officiating.

Burial will be in the Montandon Cemetery, with military honors by the Montandon American Legion Post 841.
