Kathy L. Bennett, 54, Hartleton

Kathy L. Bennett, 54, of 510 Main St., since 1976, entered into rest at 7:35 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born January 19, 1956, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Helen R. (Mull) Walter of Mifflinburg and the late Homer J. Walter. On August 7, 1976, she married Tony A. Bennett, who survives.

Kathy was a 1973 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was employed at Par-Knit Mills, Mifflinburg, for many years, and earlier in life worked at the Freeze Bee, Hartleton.

Kathy served as Tax Assessor and Tax Collector in Hartleton Borough, and also served on the Hartleton Borough Election Board.

She attended the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron, Millmont.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 34 years and mother, are one son, Rylan A. Bennett of Lewisburg; one daughter, Whitney A. Bennett of Hartleton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David E. and Shonny Walter of Millmont, and Ricky L. and Dorothy Walter of Mifflinburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorry L. and John W. Heiges, Linda M. and Allen Z. Wehr, and Julie D. and Mike Whalen, all of Mifflinburg; and her maternal grandmother, Beulah A. Mull, 101 years of age, of Selinsgrove.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Christ Community Church of Glen Iron, 2746 State Route 235, Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Henry F. Dorman, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
