Katie Ely

LEWISBURG – Katie Leona Ely, 77, of 1957 Furnace Rd., since 1965, entered into rest at 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her home.
She was born March 24, 1938, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Orval and Sarah (Feltman) Minium. On May 4, 1963, at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Lewisburg, she married Jimmy R. Ely, who preceded her in death November 30, 2009.
Katie was a 1955 graduate of Lewisburg Area High School.
She enjoyed spending time at the Weikert cabin by the creek.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory O. and Cathy Ely of Sinking Spring, and Michael J. and Shelly Ely of Winfield; four grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Isabella, and Austin Ely; two step-grandchildren, Victoria and Paul; six loving nieces and nephews, Cathy, Susan, Oceanna, April, Brenda, and Tim.
She was preceded in death by two special nephews, John and Jeff.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Katie will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc, 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Pastor Ralph Unroe, officiating.
