Kay Eugene Remsnyder, 83, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 1:56 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born September 7, 1933, in Williamsport, a son of the late Elwood and Margaret (Craft) Remsnyder. On July 10, 1969, in Williamsport, he married the former Elizabeth “Libby” Reitz, who survives.
Kay was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School.
He was employed at Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania and Verizon for 37 years.
Kay was a member of the Muncy Historical Society, the Mahanoy and Mahantongo Historical & Preservation Society, Lycoming County Genealogy Society, Sentimental Journey Aviation Club, Lock Haven, and Tiadaghton Chapter Sons of the American Revolution.
He was an avid genealogist.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary and Sara Remsnyder of Stroudsburg, and Kevin Remsnyder of Stroudsburg; one daughter, Cynthia Hohl and her companion Ray Turick of Stroudsburg; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Duane Remsnyder; one sister, Doris Hoffman; and one step-son, Michael J. Bower.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kay will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.
Private interment will be in the Muncy Cemetery.
