Laurabelle E. Lloyd

Laurabelle E. Lloyd, 92, of Lewisburg passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1932, in rural Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Charles S. and Olie U. (Chappell) Swanger. She was married to Marvin L. Snyder for 54 years until his death in 2003. She then married Gene W. Lloyd in 2008, and they celebrated 16 years of marriage together.

Laurabelle attended Milton High School. 

She was employed by Milton Shoe Factory, Fox Knapp, Milton, Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, and retired from JPM Co., Lewisburg. 

Earlier in life, Laurabelle attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Lewisburg, and more recently attended Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and cooking.

In addition to her husband Gene, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sue Snyder of Milton, and James and Linda Snyder of Williamsport; 4 grandchildren, Jason Snyder, Chadwick and his fiancé Christine Snyder, Melanie and her husband Josh Jones, and Nathan Snyder; 3 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one sister Leola Dornsife of Lewisburg; and two stepsons, Mike and his wife Penny Lloyd of Danville, and Dean Lloyd of Philadelphia.

In addition to her first husband, Marvin, she was preceded in death by twin sons Larry and Gary Snyder; siblings Willard, John, Thomas, Ernest “Buck”, Russell, Ralph, Donald, Robert, and Paul Swanger, Myrtle Reedy, Edna Brown, Betty Diehl, and Ethelda Clayton; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at Church of Christ in Christian Union, 199 Newman Rd, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2, with Rev. Harry Harter and Pastor Robert Strobel, officiating. 

Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
