Leroy M. Stamm, 74, Millmont

Leroy Melvin Stamm, 74, of 756 Stover Rd., for the past 51 years, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at Rolling Hills Manor, where he had been a resident since 2011.

He was born December 1, 1938, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Melvin T. and Helen E. (Pontius) Stamm. On December 23, 1961, at the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, he married the former Carolyn K. Wenrick, who survives.

Leroy attended Mifflinburg High School.

He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958, as an airplane mechanic in England.

Leroy was the owner and operator of Stamm's Auto Sales and Repair Shop, Millmont, from 1978 until 2011, and from 1994 to 2010,Stamm's II, in Selinsgrove. Earlier in life, he worked at Phillips Industries, Danville, and at Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg, for 15 years.

He was a gate keeper at the Selinsgrove Speedway for many years, the P.A.D.E. since 1975, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Mifflinburg.

Leroy enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, NASCAR racing, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, are one son, David A. Stamm of Millmont; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela S. and Oren Reber of Mifflinburg, Jacqueline L. and Rick Smith of Millmont, and Kathy M. and Lee Heckert of Mifflinburg; one brother and sister-in-law, John R., Sr. and Betty Stamm of Millmont; one sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Leo Luci of State College; 7 grandchildren, Ray Kline, Jr., Laura Peffer, Taylor Stamm, Allen Stamm, Richard Smith, II, Megan Kratzer, and Trisha Ruhl; and 4 great grandchildren, Isaac Kline, Rebekah Kline, Kathryn Reber, and Ricky Smith.

He was preceded in death by his brother William Stamm.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Leroy will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the West End Bible Fellowship, 19200 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, with Pastor Richard DeVett, officiating.

A light luncheon and fellowship with the Stamm family will immediately follow the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorial gifts may be made in Leroy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania, 3544 North Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
