LeRoy J. Wagner, Sr., 81, Mifflinburg
LeRoy Junior Wagner, Sr., 81, of 3107 Church Rd., since 1972, entered into rest at 9:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Manor Care, Sunbury, were he had been a resident since June 24th.
He was born January 30, 1928 in Williamsport, a son of the late Peter W. and Geraldine (Potter) Wagner. On December 4, 1954, he married the former Joyce Hansleman, who survives. In 2007, LeRoy married the former Pamela King, who survives.
LeRoy honorably served in the Army as a Sergeant First Class, during the Korean War and Viet Nam War, from 1951 until he retired in 1972.
He was employed at Bucknell University in the R.O.T.C. Program in 1972, and later worked at International Paper, Lewisburg.
LeRoy was a member of the New Berlin American Legion Post 957.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Pam, are four sons and three daughters-in-law, LeRoy J., Jr. and Mary Wagner of Lexington Park, Maryland, James P. Wagner of Johnstown, Michael D. and Sharon G. Wagner of Mifflinburg, and John W. and Sharon L. Wagner of Weikert; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy W. and William L. Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Wanda J. and Preston R. Boop of Mifflinburg, and Lori Ann and Alan D. Zechman of Beavertown; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Blanche Wagner of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Russel Barger of Trout Run, Joyce and Lester Livermore of Trout Run, and Rosemary and John Seeley of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Wagner on January 30, 2009; one daughter, Tina Marie Wagner on December 25, 1978; and one sister, Lois Boush in October 2004.
A memorial service, with military honors by the New Berlin American Legion Post 957, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Ned E. Weller, officiating.
