Lois J. Boop, 82, Mifflinburg
Lois J. Boop, 82, of 34 E. Maple St., since 1960, entered into rest at 10:13 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born July 29, 1930, in Huntingdon County, a daughter of the late R. Clair Jacka and Ruth Barber. On July 12, 1952, in Mifflinburg, she married Gene D. Boop, who preceded her in death March 11, 1990.
Lois was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.
She was a 1948 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
During high school, she worked as a waitress at the Mifflinburg Hotel. Lois was then employed at Huntingdon Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg, for 40 years, until she retired in 1995.
Lois enjoyed attending yard sales, going on trips with her family and friends, and watching the Atlanta Braves and Penn State sports. She had a great sense of humor and was often laughing.
Surviving are one son, Craig D. Boop of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna L. and J. Daniel Brobst of Mifflinburg; one brother, Clair R. Jacka of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren, Jaime Lynn Boop of Monaca, and Matthew C. Boop of Mifflinburg; two great grandchildren, Kali L. Boop and Matthew J. Boop; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Faye M. Stevens.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where a memorial service to celebrate the life of Lois will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.
Interment will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, Laurelton.
