Margaret E. Hornberger, 88, Mifflinburg
Margaret Eileen Hornberger, 88, of 2345 Reber Rd., since 1971, entered into rest at 2:41 a.m., Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born October 21, 1922, in Marshalltown, Iowa, a daughter of the late Louis and Loretta (Flynn) Foss. On July 9, 1937, in Elkton, Maryland, she married James E. Hornberger, who survives.
Margaret was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg.
She was employed as a scheduler for Union Snyder Transportation.
Margaret enjoyed square dancing, quilting, canning foods, and making greeting cards with rubber stamps.
Surviving in addition to her husband of nearly 74 years, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, James L. Hornberger of Lewisburg, Larry G. and Lillie Hornberger of Selinsgrove, and Louis H. and Betty Hornberger of Bensalem; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Margaret Lynn; and two brothers, Durwood and Robert Foss.
Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m., with Pastor Carl Varner, officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Trevose.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 30 Center St., Milton, PA 17847.
