MIFFLINBURG a�" Mark A. Betz, 48, of Mifflinburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at home.
He was born May 21, 1962 in Bloomsburg, a son of Miles M. Betz Sr. and the late Florence Omen Betz. He was married to the former Vera K. Heimbach, who survives.
Mark was employed by Penn Fire Protection, Selinsgrove.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also would spend countless hours tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his wife, Vera; his father Miles, and step-mother, Elenore Betz, of Exchange; a daughter, Amanda M. and husband Lonnie Reigle, of Mifflinburg; and two sons, Adam Heimbach and Mark Betz, both of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren, Lonnie, Rebecca, Katlyn, Davidson, Keturah and Maria. Also surviving are two sisters, Louann Lebarron, of Muncy, Lucinda Aikey, of Middleburg, and a brother, Miles Betz, of Muncy.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Follmer.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at the family home, 337 Gast Road, Mifflinburg.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
