Marlene Gabel

NEW BERLIN - Marlene “Cookie” Ann Gabel, 74, of 659 Vine St., for the past 48 years, entered into rest at 3:50 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her home.
She was born August 8, 1941, in New Berlin, a daughter of the late William T. and Evaline W. (Moyer) Wright.
Marlene was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin.
She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, collecting cook books and dolls, her cat “Tabby”, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are three daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah Jones and David Bickel of New Berlin, Karen Jones Sweitzer of Lewisburg, and Vicki Jones of Lewisburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Laurie Yarger of New Bern, North Carolina; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harry Kratzer of New Berlin; six grandchildren and their spouses, Ami and Pete Goudreau, Matthew and Andrea Bickel, Nathan Lloyd, Thomas Sweitzer, Jeffrey Wise, Jr., and Samantha Hoover; five great grandchildren, Braydyn, Emily, Coltyn, and Austyn Bickel, and Xander Goudreau; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Wright; and one niece, Sharon Yarger.
Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
