With his loving wife by his side, Marvin C. Ulrich, 70, of 587 Johnson Mill Rd., entered into rest at 8.45 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his home. Born on February 16, 1943, Marvin was a son of the late Willard and Mary Miller Ulrich. He was a 1961 graduate of Mifflinburg High School. On July 27, 1963, he married Nancy Shirk who survives. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Marvin was the owner/operator of BMU Construction Co. in Lewisburg. He was a very talented builder and perfectionist when it came to his work ethic. Marvin was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mifflinburg, the American Legion Post # 957 in New Berlin and a former member of the Pa. National Guard in Milton.
In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by one daughter Cathleen (Doug) Shirk of Mifflinburg; one son, Steven (Cara) Ulrich of Milton and three grandchildren, Jamie and Paige Ulrich and Chloe Perrin. Also surviving are siblings, Robert (Janet) Ulrich of Winfield and Joyce Reich of Selinsgrove; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Shirk; sister-in-law, Erma Ulrich; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Ed) Benfer, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ulrich; one sister, Diane Ulrich and two nephews, Brian Ulrich and Gregory Benfer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in honor of Marvin at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market Street in Mifflinburg with Rev. Peter Bergstresser officiating. In accordance with family wishes, Marvin will be laid to rest in Mifflinburg Cemetery during a private service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marvin may be given to Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, Pa. 17837 or to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
