Matthew Denius

Matthew LaRue Denius, 68, of Middleburg, entered into rest at 9:10 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born January 27, 1955, in Lewisburg, a son of Lila M. (Englehart) Denius of Lewisburg, and the late Mahlon K. Denius.

Matthew was a 1973 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

He attended church at Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, Mifflinburg.

Matthew was a self-employed dairy farmer.

He enjoyed coin collecting, antiques, and going to sales.

Surviving in addition to his mother, is one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and April Denius of Mifflinburg; three daughters and one son-in-law, Amy Denius, Jennifer Denius, and Linda and Michael Hassinger, all of Middleburg; thirteen grandchildren, Taylan and Rayven Hassinger, Malachi and Keziah Denius, Kayla Jon, Tim, Dustin, Chandler, Xander, and Cory Garverick, and Tristan and Kale Denius; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Delani, Saraphina, Eleanor, and Felicity.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Sophia.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Matthew's life starting at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 27, at the Penns Creek Fire Hall, 50 Troxelville Rd., Penns Creek.
