Michael W. Benner

Michael W. “Mike” Benner, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the age of 62. 

He was born on October 7, 1961, in Lewisburg, the eldest son of the late Wayne D. and Bobbye G. (Griswold) Benner, of Millmont. 

Mike resided most recently in the Milton area, but was a lifelong “west-ender” from Union County. 

He graduated from Mifflinburg Area High School in 1980. 

Mike was employed at various area manufacturing firms throughout his working life, including Pennsylvania House, Milton Steel, Furmano’s, and most recently Playworld Systems in Lewisburg. 

In his younger years, Mike enjoyed riding motorcycle, fishing, and hunting. Later in life, he loved equestrian English riding and taking care of his beloved horse Grace. 

Mike is survived by one brother, Steven B. (Kelly) Benner of Williamsport, their two daughters and their families: Katie M. (Michael) Schaeffer and children, Esme and Briggs of Montoursville; and Abigail A. (Daniel) Buttorff and their daughter Blair of Lewisburg. 

A private interment will be held by the family at the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery, Millmont.
