Michael “Mike” Andrew Wetzel, 50, of 11585 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 12:01 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born April 27, 1967, in Lewisburg, a son of Donald M. Wetzel, Jr. of Mifflinburg, and the late Charlene (Bowersox) Wetzel. On October 21, 1986, he married the former Christine L. Stahl, who survives.
Mike attended Mifflinburg Area High School.
He was employed at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for the past five years as a phlebotomist. Mike also worked at Ritz Craft, Mifflinburg, Yorktown, Mifflinburg, Lloyd’s Construction, Lewisburg, Paul Stine Chevrolet, Selinsgrove, and Phillips Industries, Selinsgrove.
Mike was a member of the Sunken Treasure Scuba Center, Lock Haven.
He enjoyed sky diving, scuba diving, fishing, renovating, and family activities.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 30 years, and his father, are two daughters, Kimberly Wetzel and her wife Jamie Sheesley of Selinsgrove, and Heather Wetzel of Mifflinburg; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald M., III and Jerri Wetzel of Chesapeake, Virginia, Shawn Bingaman and his companion Angela Derr of Shamokin Dam, and Chad and Udele Bingaman of McClure; one sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Will Maxfield of Mifflinburg; and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of Mike’s life at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Carriage Corner Restaurant, 257 E. Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
