Nelson R. Kahler, 73, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 9:10 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born August 14, 1950, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Wilbert and Mildred (Ross) Kahler.
Nelson was a 1968 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was employed at Pennsylvania House, Wood-Mode, and most recently at Keystone Building Products.
Nelson was an avid fisherman and enjoyed deep sea fishing at the beach, spending time with his daughters and granddaughters, attending train shows and collecting and displaying trains, making model cars, hunting, playing cards with family, Chevy trucks, and watching NASCAR, Eagles, and Penn State football.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Heather and Doug Walter of Lewisburg and Lynnsey Kahler Ulmer of Mifflinburg; 3 grandchildren, Makenna Noel and Harper Alexa Walter, and Corrina Ann Ulmer; two sisters, Jean Ewig of Middleburg, and Kay Stamm of St. Petersburg, Florida; his French Bulldog and companion, Lily; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 19, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 3, with Pastor Daniel Wilt, officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to American Legion Post 410 c/o Fishing Derby, 320 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg.
