Nelson P. Viola, Jr.

Nelson P. Viola, Jr., 90, of New Berlin, formerly of Connecticut, entered into rest Christmas morning, surrounded by his family.

He was born August 26, 1933, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a son of the late Nelson Patrick Viola and Ruth (Ferris) Smith.  In July 1957, he married the former Sharon Jane Whalley, who preceded him in death.

Nelson was a 1953 graduate of Central High School, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

He served in the Army from September 30, 1953, until his honorable discharge August 24, 1955.

Nelson was employed as a Jeweler at David Harvey Jewelers, Spectors Jewelers, and Michael’s Jewelers.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sharnel J. and Edward Pilko of New Berlin; one son and daughter-in-law, Nelson “Buddy” P., III and Deborah A. Viola of Wexford; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Florence Viola of Connecticut; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Liptak of Florida; and 8 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 6, at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 308 Market St, New Berlin, with Rev. Alice Rauch, officiating.

A fellowship meal will follow the service.
