Nicholas "Nick" L. Lair, 79, Selinsgrove
Nicholas "Nick" L. Lair, 79, formerly of Williamsport, a resident of Selinsgrove since 1966, most recently of 25 Penns Landing, entered into rest early Monday morning at his home.
He was born October 19, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of the late Nicholas and Maria (Ruef) Lair. On June 8, 1957, in Mansfield, he married the former Leona M. Roupp.
Nick was a religious man and a devout family man who absolutely adored his wife, Leona, and always put his family first.
Nick was a 1950 graduate of Covington High School, Covington, PA, and then attended Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport.
He honorably served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.
Nick was employed by Textron, Williamsport, as a Tool Design Engineer for many years until he retired in 1999. Earlier in life, he worked at Sylvania Electric, Williamsport. Nick and his wife owned and operated the Ho-Hum Restaurant, Shamokin Dam, from 1966 to 1984.
He was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Nick was also an active member of the Selinsgrove Senior Center, where he served as treasurer the past 4 years. He was also a PIAA official for the Selinsgrove Area Recreation and the Sunbury Area YMCA swim teams.
Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 55 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nicholas L. Lair, Jr. and Janice Gemberling of Selinsgrove, and Michael Lair of Coconut Creek, FL; two daughters and one son-in-law, Christine Lair of Selinsgrove, and Kimberly and Kevin Yohn of Middleburg; three grandchildren, Monica Lair, Ethan Miller, and Abigail Miller; and two sisters, Elsie Sprauer of Dayton, Ohio, and Edith Stock of Dallas, PA.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Marie Lair; and one sister, Erna C. Van Horn.
There will be no public viewing. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Dr., Selinsgrove, with Rev. Ted Keating, celebrant.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
