Nora A. Weaver, 87, Lewisburg

Nora Arlene Weaver, 87, formerly of 1272 Johnson Mill Rd., for 26 years, peacefully went home to be with her Lord at 12:47 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at 781 Spruce Run Rd., the home of her daughter, where she had been living since August 2011.

She was born February 18, 1926, in Richfield, a daughter of the late Oscar and Emma (Goodling) Kauffman. On October 12, 1946, in Richfield, she married Samuel B. Weaver, who preceded her in death January 26, 2012.

Nora was a member of the Buffalo Mennonite Church, Lewisburg, since 1949, where she was a bible school teacher

Prior to her marriage, she was employed at the Richfield Shirt Factory. Later in life, she assisted her husband on the family farm and worked in cleaning area homes.

Nora enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, and singing.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin S. and Rebecca Weaver of Ulster; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Kathryn A. and Kenneth Groff of Charm, OH, Marie E. Weaver of Lewisburg, Ruth E. and Wilbur Aikey of Missouri, Anna Mae and Terry Freeman of Bolivar, NY, and Dolores F. and Melvin Boss of Brownsville, OR; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Louise Kauffman of Beavertown; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Cora Weaver of Mifflinburg, Mary and Albert Heimbach of Selinsgrove, Charlotte and Oran Heimbach of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Evelyn and Clair Heimbach of Selinsgrove; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alvin Chester Weaver on September 24, 1966; and one sister, Orpha Kratzer.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, at the Buffalo Mennonite Church, 4445 Hoffa Mill Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Deacon Al Longenecker, Minister Albert Heimbach, and Minister Matthew Funk, officiating.

Burial will be in the Buffalo Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
