Patricia A. Walter, 60, New Berlin

Patricia "Patti" A. Walter, 60, of 418 Walnut St., for the past 28 years, entered into rest after a hard fought battle with ALS, at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013, at her home.

She was born January 2, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Joyce A. (Wray) Bilger of Mill Creek, and the late Robert L. Wert. On August 21, 1971, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Berlin, she married Jay C. Walter, who survives.

Patti was a 1970 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin.

Patti was employed in clerical support for Rotech Healthcare, Mifflinburg.

The light of her life was her granddaughters, Kaylee and Kiera.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 42 years, and her mother, are one daughter and son-in-law, Erin E. and Matthew Hess of Mifflinburg; step-mother, Shirley J. and her husband Luther Boop of New Berlin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Arlene Wert of Mifflinburg, and William and Yijin Wert of Harrisburg; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandra Schaefer of Willow Street, Beverly Loudy of Middleburg, and Tammy and Perce Morgan of Harrisburg; and two granddaughters, Kaylee E. Hess, and Kiera A. Hess.

There will be no public viewing. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Patti will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Robert Barner, officiating.

Burial will be in the New Berlin Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
