Paul R. Zimmerman, 82, Mifflinburg

Paul Raymond Zimmerman, 82, of 40 E. Maple St., since 1968, entered into rest at 2:50 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born September 16, 1928, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late John and Sara (Maurer) Zimmerman. On August 7, 1948, in Lewisburg, he married the former Mae Feltman, who survives.

Paul was a 1947 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

He was employed as a mechanic at the U.S. Penitentiary, Lewisburg, for 20 years. Earlier in life, he was employed in construction and as a brick layer.

Paul was a lifelong member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Vintage Iron Club, Mifflinburg.

Paul enjoyed hunting and collecting antique tractors.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 62 years, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry D. Zimmerman of Washington, DC, and Laird K. and Sharon Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and James Sauers of Mifflinburg; one granddaughter, Tiffany and her husband Dan Delcamp Mifflinburg; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Delcamp of Mifflinburg; two step-grandchildren, Tanya and her husband Quincy Lantz of Forest Hill, and Clint Stahl of Mifflinburg; one step-great granddaughter, Tamira Lantz of Forest Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Marion Zimmerman of Mifflinburg; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Hoyt Zimmerman; and one sister, Agnes Derr.


Family and friends are welcome from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ronald Warfle, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
