MIFFLINBURG – Phyllis M. Fluharty, 92, of Mifflinburg since 1993, formerly of Boonton, New Jersey, entered into rest at 4:20 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
She was born October 1, 1922, in Boonton, a daughter of the late David and Ida Mae (Peer) Klinger. On October 7, 1945, at the Boonton United Methodist Church, she married Ralph “Nick” B. Fluharty, who preceded her in death August 6, 2009.
Phyllis was a 1940 graduate of Boonton High School.
She was an active member of the Boonton United Methodist Church and the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church. Later in life, she attended the Mifflinburg Assembly of God Church
Phyllis was employed as a secretary at the Morristown United Methodist Church, and the Vey Insurance Adjustment Bureau, Morristown, New Jersey.
She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph E. and Dorothy J. “Jeannie” Fluharty, of Mifflinburg, and one additional son and daughter-in-law; one grandson, Ryan M. Fluharty of Lancaster; cousins, Johnny and Mary Kedash, and Dot Peer, all of Newton, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
