MIFFLINBURG – Ray Christopher Mitch, 86, of 2240 Johnstown Rd., entered into rest at 9:36 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born April 4, 1930, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Christopher and Mary Maude (Bruss) Mitch. In 1964, he married the former Nancy M. Hanselman, who survives.
Ray was employed as a truck driver for Fulmer’s Trucking, Hummels Wharf, and Narehood’s Trucking, Washingtonville.
He was a member for over 10 years, and former president of the Union County Bench Rest Club, Weikert.
Ray enjoyed hunting, building rifles, truck driving, and walking his dog.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years, are one son, Ray C. Mitch, Jr. of Mifflinburg; two daughters, Nancy I. Ulrich of Montgomery, and Debra A. Hall of Mifflinburg; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and his dog, Ace, and cat Puss.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Albert, Charles, and Abe; and 4 sisters, Oma Moyer, Mildred Fertig, Martha Morgan, and Mary Bingaman.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ray will be conducted at 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Marian K. Anderson, officiating.
