Raymond Bloom

Raymond W. Bloom, 82, Mifflinburg, for the past 51 years, entered into rest at 8:26 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at home.

He was born August 31, 1937, in Clearfield, a son of the late Gilbert and Myrtle (VanScoyoc) Bloom.  On January 30, 1960, in Curwensville Presbyterian Church, he married the former Mary Ellen Johnson, who survives.

Raymond was a 1955 graduate of Curwensville High School.  He then graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1959 and later earned his Masters Degree from Penn State University.

He was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.

Raymond was a math teacher at Mifflinburg Area High School for 30 years.  Prior to moving to Mifflinburg in 1964, he was a teacher at Altoona Middle School for four years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years, are two daughters, Laurie Ann Costello of Mechanicsburg, and Jill Rae Watts of Lancaster; and one grandson, Connor.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Richard Bloom; and half-sister, Connie Bloom.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
