Raymond Galer

Raymond Arthur Galer, 91, of 200 Center St., Middleburg, entered into rest at 10:43 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at his home.

He was born June 30, 1927, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Keister) Galer. On December 17, 1949, he married the former Doris Zimmerman, who survives.

Raymond attended Mifflinburg High School.

He honorably served in the Army until he was medically discharged.

Raymond was employed at Philadelphia Seed, Stanford Seed, Scarlet Seed and Seedway, where he worked as a Truck Driver and Warehouse Manager until retirement in 2005.

He enjoyed spending weekday mornings at Harvey’s with the coffee guys and prided himself in meticulous care of his lawn.

Raymond was a private, humble man. His family was the center of his life and was known as “Pappy” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Lori Galer of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dale Tittle of Middleburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Etta Galer of Port Trevorton; and 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Heather Tittle of Middleburg, Beth and Tim Beachel of Middleburg, Kyle Galer of Williamsport, Amanda Galer of Mifflinburg, and Jennifer Galer of Mifflinburg; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Dottie and Myron Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
