Rev. John F. Saultz, 78, of 405 Teaberry Lane, Middleburg, for the past four years, formerly of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 1:25 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at his home.

He was born September 15, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a son of the late Chancie and Olive (Henry) Saultz.  On June 11, 1961, in Chillicothe, he married the former Patricia L. DePugh, who survives.

John attended Chillicothe High School and later the Circleville Bible College, Ohio.

He served in the Marine Corp from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1960.

John served as pastor of the Tracy Creek Church of Christ in Christian Union, Vestal, New York from 1974 until 1981.  In 1981, he and his family moved to Lewisburg, where he was pastor at the Church of Christ in Christian Union until he retired in 2013.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing basketball, riding his bike, traveling to Florida, nature, and photography.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy and Nita Saultz of Mechanicsburg, James and Kimberly Saultz of Chillicothe, and Joe Saultz of Mechanicsburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Keith Bingaman of Mifflinburg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Billie Walsh, Joyce and Melvin Thacker, and Janet and Gary Kleinhans, all of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Jimmy Saultz, Danny Saultz, Joann Finley, Karissa Kirkwood, Keightley Saultz, Rachel Bingaman, Jon Bingaman, Jacob Bingaman, and Jocelyn Saultz;  two great grandchildren, Lilly and Boe Saultz; a special cousin, Larry Henry of Jamestown, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Saultz; and two sisters, Phyllis Skaggs and Patsy Heilman.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Daryl Kuhns, officiating.

Private burial will be in the Floral Hills Cemetery, Chillicothe.
