Richard Schnure

Richard R. Schnure, 82, of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village since 1998, formerly of Laurelton, entered into rest at 2:23 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born July 25, 1938 in Northumberland County, a son of the late Sanford and Marian (VanKirk) Schnure.

Richard was a graduate of Northumberland High School.

He was a former member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont.

Richard was an avid baseball follower, baseball card collector, and a big fan of the Yankees and Babe Ruth era. He had a vast knowledge of baseball, general history, and biblical facts. Richard enjoyed reading, reminiscing about family, receiving visitors, and attending family gatherings. He was always upbeat, friendly, and loved sharing his knowledge with others.

He is survived by many cousins.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Marian K. Anderson, officiating.

Burial will be in Hartleton Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village for their kindness over the years, and thank the friends that would visit Richard.
