MIFFLINBURG - Ricky Allen Aikey, 52, of 183 Meadow Green Drive, entered into rest at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born May 10, 1957, in Lewisburg, a son of Guy M. and Shirley M. Aikey, of Mifflinburg.
Ricky was a 1975 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was an independent oversize load escort driver. Earlier in life, he was employed at Showers Manor and Carriage House, Milton, C.A. Shipton, Mifflinburg, and Glen-Gery, Watsontown.
He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, and a former member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company and Fire Police.
Ricky enjoyed mechanical and carpentry work, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, visiting his friends at Rishel's Meats in Mifflinburg, and spending time with his buddy, Kenny. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his third grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his lifetime companion, Kathy K. Aikey, of Mifflinburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher A. and Melody Aikey, of Selinsgrove, and Jeremy L. and Bonnie Aikey of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Amber M. Aikey, of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Cindy E. and John C. Shipton, of Mifflinburg; two grandchildren, Isaiah T. Aikey and Isabella E. Aikey; one niece, Renee L. and her husband George E. Pick, of Watsontown; one nephew, Paul W. and his wife Melissa S. Shipton, of Lewisburg; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Blake Shipton, Noah, Emma, and Brenna Pick.
Friends and family are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
The funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
