MIFFLINBURG - Robert Harrison Wetzel, 62, of 77 Wabash Rd. for the past 38 years, entered into rest at 8:35 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Chester Harrison and Bernice Mae (Hess) Wetzel. On June 26, 1971, at the Nazarene Church, Lewisburg, he married the former Wilma E. Tallman, who survives.
Robert was a member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church for 37 years.
He was employed at Yorktowne Kitchens, Mifflinburg, for over 35 years.
Robert enjoyed hunting and attending tractor pulls. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 38 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Bradley H. and Doreen L. Wetzel of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen E. and Tyson B. Chappell of Mifflinburg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Donna J. Wetzel of Milton, Peggy C. and Bill Dunkle of Washingtonville, and Shirley R. and Donald Hause of Lewisburg; and three grandchildren, Shawnee Chappell, Amy Chappell, and Natalia Sue Wetzel.
He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Rodney Wayne Wetzel.
There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest Hill United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel H. Hicks officiating.
