Romain Dorman, Jr.

Romain D. Dorman, Jr., 92, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born August 16, 1930, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Romain D., Sr. and Isabelle G. (Campbell) Dorman.  On June 27, 1975, in Pleasant Grove, he married the former Mary R. Steffen, who survives.

He served in the Army from March 29, 1951 until his honorable discharge March 14, 1953.

Romain was employed at ConAgra, Milton, for 29 years.

He attended the Millmont God’s Missionary Church.

Romain was a member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club, Mifflinburg.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and woodworking at his home.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years, are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Franklin and Lorie Dorman of Sunbury, David Dorman of Mifflinburg, and Timothy Dorman of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Zona and Randy Brosious-Gordner of Muncy Valley, and Priscilla and Caleb Peachy of Mifflinburg; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert and Sue Dorman of Mifflinburg, Thomas Dorman of Beavertown, Roy and Ginny Dorman of Florida; five sisters, Gladys Wetzel of Lewisburg, Alice Bottiger of Cowan, Margaret and Charlie Aumiller Beavertown, and Millie and Beryl Sauers of Mazeppa; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Dorman; and one sister, Ruth Moll.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at the Millmont God’s Missionary Church, 14495 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Michael McMillan and Rev. Fred Bennett, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
