Ronald E. Aurand, 66, Lewisburg

Ronald Edward Aurand, 66, of 319 Arrowhead Lane, for the past 42 years, entered into rest at 5:40 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born February 23, 1947, in Sunbury, a son of the late Robert and Vivian (Culp) Aurand. On July 25, 1970, in Lewisburg, he married the former Linda L. Aikey, who survives.

Ronald was a 1966 graduate of Shikellamy High School.

He was an Airborne Ranger in Viet Nam, serving from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Ronald worked with his son, Keith, at Keith Aurand Construction for 15 years. Earlier in life, he was employed at Interstate Trucking, White Deer, and Crest Homes, Milton.

He was a member of the Mazeppa Union Church, for 33 years, where he assisted with cooking at church dinners and general church maintenance.

Ronald was a member of the Lewisburg American Legion Post 182.

He was a little league coach and assisted at the Camp Mount Luther chicken barbeques. Ronald enjoyed animals, gardening, hunting, being active in the outdoors, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 43 years, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith A. and Sherri L. Aurand of Mifflinburg, and Kurt A. and Elizabeth M. Aurand of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly A. and Mark C. Carollo of Lewisburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary L. and JoAnn Aurand of Northumberland, and Jeffrey A. and Jean Aurand of Herndon; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia L. and Craig Edson of Milton; and nine grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Ethan, Logan, Makayla, Alliyah, Austin, Derek, and Alexis.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Mazeppa Union Church, 3200 Johnson Mill Rd., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ricky Phillips, officiating.

Burial will be in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery with military honors by the Lewisburg American Legion Post 182.
